The Akiak was my first purchase of a carbon manufactured paddle. Previously, I used self-made wooden ones. I've paddled for 10 years mainly with a euro-style. On the water it's lightness and stiffness is amazing. The replaceable tips are a great idea. Over all great design...

Best deck bag I've ever owned...
It may look small, but the inside is larger than it looks and holds everything I need for the day - rain hat, spare gloves ..etc. .. The side lashing straps work well for bilge pump, paddle float etc. The low profile means it doesn't add much wind resistance like some of the big bags...
