There are three key components to rolling a kayak:
#1 Driving the legs and thigh, #2 Body buoyancy, and #3 Paddle floatation.

Gearlab Rolling Float helps you to be more comfortable with your body balance during your kayak rolling practice. The product is intuitive and provides more initial buoyancy than a paddle. Using the Rolling Float, you can practice more with elegance and confidence, minus the cumbersome wet exits.

Fast Shipping through Amazon, Great Tool for a Last Minute Excursion

Ordered it through Amazon and it arrived in time for a trip in the San Juan Islands. I practiced using it as a rescue float, and it worked better than my older basic paddle float. Also used it to practice rolls with instruction from a more experienced kayaker friend. I am looking forward to practicing with the float more often and to grow my rolling skills.

Very very clever and well done paddle float

The rolling-float has been really well designed. It corrects all the errors of previous inflatable paddle-float :
- very ergonomic
- compact AND ingenious inflation valve
- PERFECTLY adapted to Greenland paddles (which is extremly RARE!)
- Well-designed folding (the little hook is also ingenious)
Very good product.
May be a litle to expensive and NOT delivery to France (only via amazon shopping)

Good, but needs some improvements

Not enough space here for a long review, so just the condensed version

Plus side:
* the 10 liters of this float are just right for practicing rolls (even though I am quite heavy)
* the velcro holds the paddle reliably, even when the float is not fully filled
* the valve is easy to operate
* it really rolls up nicely for storage

Negative points:
* my package was missing the little carabiner, which is advertised as "Handy Snap to Slackline"
* holding the float with two hands is possible, but awkward because the hand position is 90° off and the handles are not far enough on the outside, so that the float squeezes against your wrists
* using it while half-inflated grabs a lot of water in the "paddle pocket" because that pocket is too wide to start with and also gets too loose when the float is not fully inflated. For example I found this interferes with the sweep part of a reverse sweep roll.

Haven't tried it in water yet

I opened it up and inflated it. Bought it mostly for a paddle float but will also use it to learn rolling. Will update after using it

Great paddle float and rolling training aid

This is the best paddle float I have found. It secures on a greenland paddle with an extra strap. It has the best single valve I have seen. It also rolls up nicely and clips all rolled up. In addition to its use as a paddle float it works great as a rolling trainer. The handles are strong and provide a secure hand hold. Great product.
