Size is power. The longer the paddle is, the more power it produces. The shorter the paddle is, the less power it produces. The best of both words, the Regular Size 220 will give you enough power, while relaxing enough for your long journeys.

This is my first Greenland paddle, so I don't have a lot to compare to. But it's light and seems to perform incredibly well. I've only used it a half dozen times, but it's been a game changer coming from a Euro blade. Learning to roll with this paddle was easy. Will never go back.

I had to come back and update my review- Unless you like throwing away money and having a $500+ paddle crack on you and leave you stranded in the ocean. When you reach out to have it replaced because you have a warranty on it they will insult you and offer you a 40% off discount code to throw away more money. If you actually kayak and use your paddle- I would suggest to purchase elsewhere. Everyone who sees my paddle and hears what happened said that ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED, and that it’s a flaw in the paddle. Be advised

I work as a Sea kayak guide and paddle almost exclusively with Greenland paddles. Among carbon Greenland's I've used, the Kalleq is without equal. It's extremely lightweight and easy to paddle with. Holds up great in rough conditions and the surf, and rolling with the paddle is such a joy. When I ordered the paddle, customer service was excellent, and without asking, they expedited my order and got it to me very quickly. I would recommend Gearlab paddles to anybody who's passionate about Sea kayaking.

I am new to the Greenland paddle world but I am very impressed by the Kalleq! The first thing I noticed when I received the paddle was how light it is. Wow! I was first attracted to Greenland paddles due to their reputation for being well suited for long distance paddling, and the light weight of the Kalleq will make it even more effective for this purpose. The paddle feels very natural in my hands; holding it with the thumb and forefinger at the far ends of the loom gives the blades a forward cant which should help to remove any flutter. The Kalleq is a great choice for the Greenland paddle enthusiast!

I did send my Kalleq back to Gearlab for their repair service for the split on both sides of the paddle ( one side only). It took over 6 weeks to get it back. I was not impressed with the repair and I went out twice and I lost the tip again as the paddle failed and was split again. I have just written Gearlab and I am awaiting a response. I expect and hope with the good customer service that they send me a new paddle as it is obvious this one has design flaws.
