Inuit Ingenuity & Modern Technology

Greenland style paddle blades make contact with the water covering roughly the same surface area as Euro-blades, but the even distribution results in a smoother stroke and more control in the water. The narrow blade also creates less resistance in the air, allowing paddlers to explore further with less physical strain.

Original ProTek Tip

Gearlab’s signature ProTek tip design bolsters the ends of the Gearlab Greenland paddle with an easily replaceable tip made from a durable polyamide material. This provides confidence in rocky or shallow waters, and the option to customize a paddle with colored tips.

Built Into Every Gearlab Paddle

Diamond Joint
The innovative metal-free carbon spring joint design snaps securely together to ensure a flush, firm connection between the blades. The result is a paddle offering two-piece convenience and a streamlined, one-piece paddling experience.

——

Titanium Hardware
Aerospace grade Titanium screws are used in all Gearlab Greenland paddles, ensuring that even the smallest element of a Gearlab paddle remains strong and rustproof.

——

Two Piece
All Gearlab Greenland paddles feature a two-piece design that separates quickly for convenient transportation and storage on the kayak deck. The low-profile carbon fiber button release creates a flush joint and sleek paddle shaft.

Pick The Right Size

Size is power. The longer the paddle is, the more power it produces. The shorter the paddle is, the less power it produces. The best of both words, the Regular Size 220 will give you enough power, while relaxing enough for your long journeys.

Dialogue on the water.

After thirty years of paddling--touring & white water canoe as well as sea kayaking--I decided to explore the Greenland paddle. I couldn't have found a better partner for this venture than GearlabOutdoors Akiak paddle. The fit and finish is up there with the best of my Euro paddles. In particular the joint of the two section paddle is exceptionally secure. Using the Greenland paddle has been pure pleasure. (I'll have to make a point to return to the Euro paddle now and then.) As Cheri Perry, expert in the Greenland paddle, puts it, "The paddle knows a lot and you just need to be aware and listen to what it's saying." Many note the effectiveness as well as comfort of the Greenland paddle. I would add the dialogue on the water, the sensuality of listening to the paddle.

Nearly 10 years old

My paddle will be 10 years old next May, it was a 70th birthday present, It is a wonderful paddle and it has stood the test of time. Someone once told me that you couldn’t brace with a Greenland paddle, I proved them wrong..I use it all the time and I hope it lasts the rest of my paddling days. Mine dates from the days of custom colours and is a bright lime green!

Akiak 230 wonder paddle

I was a Werner Kalliste Touring paddle man all the way until I watched Dancing With The Sea and decided to give the Greenland paddle a shot.
This paddle allows me to go further with not only less effort but it’s like a complete reduction of fatigue. I thought before using, it was a gimmick. Well I’m 62 and it’s no Gimmick. It’s a Wonder Paddle A marvelously wonderful tool !!!!
